Striper #1 for the Day!
Another evening spent rock hopping and casting in the Saluda River. It was absolutely gorgeous today, the temperature is already cooler giving the air the slight hint that fall is right around the corner, one of my favorite times of year. With fall brings the lift of the Saluda Striper Bass regulation; starting Oct. 1st you can keep them if they are over 26 inches long. We prefer to catch and release - but won’t pass up the chance every so often to bring home fresh dinner.
Tonight proved to be another successful evening on the river. We arrived around 5pm, a bit early and the bites were minimal at best, just around sunset the action picked up and we ended up catching a total of 3 that evening, the largest having been caught by Andrew, 23 inches long! There are a couple new photos up in the Pictures Page.
- Final Score: Sue 2, Andrew 1

- Largest “Catch of the Day”: Andrew
- Bait: Rapala Lures
